My last chance?
I now realise that time is a precious commodity, and I have let too much of it slip away
On Monday, the 21st of June, at sunrise (the summer solstice), I will begin the next chapter of my story. I have to do something about my health, specifically, my weight. I have spent many hours researching a method that will be sustainable and fits in with my lifestyle.
I had to find something that would do three essential things. Number 1; lose weight. Number 2; improve my fitness, and number 3; increase my life expectancy. I have written about my struggles with fitness goals several times and, with the best intentions, declared that I would do this, that and the other. None of it worked.
This time is different. I have had a spiritual awakening. I now realise that I need to cleanse my soul as well as my body. So, here is my method.
DAILY MEDITATION - THIRTY MINUTES A DAY
DAILY FASTING - EATING ONE MEAL A DAY
DAILY EXERCISE - WALKING FIVE MILES A DAY
That’s it. No calorie counting. No cutting out this food or that. It’s about giving my body the time it needs each day to make repairs at the cellular level. A daily detox, if you will.
At dawn on Monday, I will kick-start my health journey with a 36-hour fast. My first meal after that will be on Tuesday afternoon.
There’s not much more to add. I will document my progress both here and on Twitter.
Wish me luck.
